My grandfather

The book was awarded International Award for Illustration Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2014. “My grandfather” is a picture book for small children. A boy tells the story about his grandfather, who has a lot of free time. Mr. Sebastian who is living next door has one eye on the time and he never wastes a minute.

This book on modern times by Portuguese author Catarina Sobral is generously sprinkled with artistic references to Jacques Tati, the French director, Fernando Pessoa, the Portuguese poet, and Edouard Monet paintings.

Catarina Sobral is a published author and illustrator. Her illustrations regularly appear in editorials, album covers and posters. Her work has been exhibited both in solo and group shows in many places around the world and are recognized by the Portuguese Authors Association and Bologna Childrens Book Fair. Catarina Sobral won the Portuguese National Illustration Award.
