The Garden Mesclun Blend is pre-mixed salad greens. Plant short rows of the mix every week, starting in early spring. As they mature, all varieties are harvested at once and mixed to make the perfect European-style salad, providing a variety of taste sensations from sweet to bitter as well as a dramatic appearance.
PLANTING
Germination:4-10 days
Germination Temperature:Optimum soil temperatures 60-70F. Soil temperatures above80F inhibit germination.
Seed Sowing Depth: inch deep
Starting Indoors:Start 3-4 weeks before planting outside.Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot, thinning to one per cell/pot. Provide 60-70F soil temperatures. Transplant out during spring, 8-12 apart.
Sowing Outdoors:Spring when the soil temperature reaches at least 50F. For baby greens sow heavy seeded rows, 30-40seeds per foot. Sow every 2-3 weeks for a continuous harvest.For full-sized heads sow a few seeds every2-4 apart, thin to8-12.Keep soil moist during germination.

Harvest:Cut whole heads, full-sized or baby at the base, or snipe off individual leaves.
Tips:The Garden Mesclun Blend grows best in spring and fall withtemperatures under 70F.Plant in fertile, well-drained soil. Amend with compost before planting if needed.Provide adequate, even moisture for the best growth. Mulching helps retain moisture.
