The first volume of the scientific journal “Ukrainian Canadiana” describe the history of Ukrainians in Canada. This book includes the works of the first chroniclers in Ukrainian-Canadian history – Osip Oleskova, Nestor Dmitrov, Andrey Sheptytsky, Nikita Budka as well as a collection of immigrant songs by Theodor Fedyk. This book describes the stages of Ukrainian Agrarian emigration to Canada, the establishment of the first Ukrainian settlements in the Canadian prairies, the pioneer years, and both the new hardships as well as successes of the newly settled Ukrainian Canadians. This book commemorates the 125th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in Canada.
