PLANTING

Onion and shallots sets are easy to plant and ensure a harvest of full-sized onion bulbs. Onions- plant in full sun, 4-6 apart, 1-2 deep, Shallots- plant 6-8″ apart. Start planting in early spring, as the ground can be worked. Prefers moist, well-drained fertile soil, amend with compost and/or apply organic fertilizer if needed. Heavy feeders- fertilize regularly, every 7-14 days. Harvest when the tops have fallen over, dry in a warm well ventilated for 2-3 weeks.
