Rattlesnake Pole Bean is a very flavorful pole bean, popular in the west for some time. Vigorous vines are heat tolerant and yield for the entire season as long as you keep them picked. Beans are quite long, 8-10″, color is an attractive green with purple stripes. Stringless when pods are small to medium in size.Rattlesnake Pole Bean was a favorite in our taste trials and is known to handle hot, humid, and droughttypes of weather.

Germination Temperature:Optimum soil temperatures are 70-85F
Seed Sowing Depth:1 deep
Outside Sowing:After the last frost with soil temperatures above 60F. Sow3- 4 apart for trellis/pole growth.Planting in soil under 60F results in poor germination.

Harvest:Before the seeds bulge and beans snap easily. Pick continually every 2-3 days to prolong production.
Tips:Growin light, well-drained soil, and provide adequate, even moisture, especially at flowering time. Dry soil can result in low yields and fibrous pods.Do not over-fertilize the Rattlesnake Pole Bean with nitrogen, which results in a surplus of foliage and low, delayed pod growth.
